Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV) | ExxonMobil-SABIC (JV)

Gulf Coast Growth Ventures is a Joint Venture between ExxonMobil / SABIC to develop a 1,200-acre site located in San Patricio County, TX into a new greenfield World Scale Petrochemical Facility. Turner Ramirez Architects was hired by GCGV to assist in the overall master planning of the site as it related to all non-petrochemical process related areas. Our services consisted of two different scopes and tasks in the overall development of the project.

The first task entailed the development of an overall master plan for the campus edges along the prominent public right of way’s, detention pond features as well as the commercial building campus. This task entailed the overall design and visualization of what the overall facility would ultimately likely look like. Turner Ramirez, as part of our delivery on this task, provided the client with imagery and augmented reality solutions for use in not only their planning purposes but also for public outreach and education on the project.

The second task entailed the programming, schematic & design development of the commercial building campus. The campus included a 100,000 sf Administration Building, 110,000 sf Maintenance Warehouse facility, and 25,000 sf Laboratory Building. The programming & design of the campus was then packaged by TRA in support of the procurement process to award a Design/Build contract for the final design and construction of the building package. TRA continued to support the client through the procurement process and throughout the now completed construction of the building process, providing on-site project representation and consultation. The overall facility, when complete, will employ over 1,200 people and produce plastics and other derivatives to support customers all over the world.
